Well, the zones in Sweden are larger...

In Damien Cox's column about the Leaves first double-you, Jonas "The Monster" Gustavsson had this to say:

“You have to be ready all the time for shots, shots from everywhere, and it feels like the shots are coming from closer here than in Sweden,” he said.

No kid, you're on the Leafs.

  1. I like how he says "Wilson knew what he was talking about" in regards to Wilson saying better goaltending leads to better offense. Sure did. Now we know the difference between scoring 6 goals and scoring 2 goals or less in six consecutive contests: a different goalie in net. Not a different goalie the team is playing against, a different goalie playing on the team whose offensive talent is in question. Man, did you see that sweet goal Gustavsson had? Wow. Talk about overqualified for NA Mans. And what about those setups on the powerplay? That guy's more than just a "monster" in net if he can help his team score an average of 4.5 more goals per game just by being in the pipes. Good call, Ron.

I guess the Leafs were destined to score -1.5 goals tonight if Gustavsson hadn't played. Man that guy keeps his team in it. Art Ross to Gustavsson!
