.i see hockey fight good

As far as I'm concerned, fighting is an irrelevant part of a hockey game. It's the "big, dumb animal" part of the sport and I watch it for the smart and skillful action, not because a gorilla and a hippo put on skates and threw punches. If my memory serves, Rob Ray never even used a stick. (We all know Chris Simon did.)

But what bothers me is the type of fan that prefers the donnybrook over the dangle. These are the type of people who stopped watching hockey because of "too many soft Euros" and are big Don Cherry fans.

Also, they're a big fan of apostrophes.

Ten dollar is if a Blue is player get is in a fight? Hell is yeah!

Man dude I wish they're wa's a place here that we could go that would do that I love watching fight's there so much fun they add so much energy two the game I also love watching UFC bro thats like hockey without skate's!

OK. Check out Cam Janssen's stats. I don't know how to post a link here so I have to just type it out. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=59645

In 164 career NHL games, he has 6 points. But hey, he racks up the PIMs, logging 354 of them in his short career.

Cam Janssen got in a fight in 19 games last season, and his team posted an 8-11 record(8-7-4) in those games, including a 5-0 loss to Detroit when he "beat up a Red Wing."

Don't get me wrong, I'm not making an argument that Cam Janssen is costing his team games by fighting, but it sure isn't helping them win. In fact, I'm sure there's an argument to be made that Cam Janssen is costing his teams games because he sucks so much at hockey. Maybe not. Sometimes you have to be lucky to get decent production out of $550,000/year. But hey, DJ King only makes $500,000/year and he was a point-per-game player last season.

  2. I think you make the most legitimate point against having goons on your team that I've heard.

They take up a roster spot that you could give to someone who is actually decent. Some players are pretty good and do some fighting (Iginla, Gary Roberts in the day) and though those guys aren't my bottle of Faygo, they are talented players.

Cam Janssen doesn't belong on a hockey roster.

  3. I was just on sports.yahoo.com/nhl, and in the middle of the page it shows the players that are "Hot". Cam Janssen was number three on the list. I swear to god. His "recent achievements" consisted of 0 PPP and 0 PIM (there was a third bagel stat too but I can't remember what it was. The sports section of yahoo is down right now for some reason.) That's what I call Hot. Draper was on there too with 2 PIMs and two bagel stats (I think it was 0 PPP and 0 Assists or something like that).

I take back everything I said about Cam Janssen.
